About This Role

Deliver specialized postoperative care in a medical-surgical environment to adult patients, managing specialty equipment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This contract role focuses on comprehensive care for patients recovering from various surgeries and medical conditions in Canastota, NY.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients postoperatively
• Monitor and manage specialty equipment including IV pumps and feeding tubes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans
• Adapt to floating assignments as required to support different units
• Document patient progress accurately using the Epic electronic medical record system
• Uphold safety standards and provide patient education on postoperative care

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with active New York RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing with documented travel nursing assignments
• Up-to-date licensure verification
• Current NURSYS report
• Valid driver's license with an address in proximity to Canastota (within 75 miles)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical-surgical nursing with documented travel nursing assignments

Nice to Have

• Experience with Epic EMR
• Proven leadership or charge nurse experience with at least two recent references
