Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, facilitating a seamless and welcoming experience by managing incoming calls, documenting patient information, and scheduling appointments for a clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, serving as the first point of contact for patients
- Obtain and accurately document patient demographics, insurance details, and referral information in the EHR
- Identify and record the reason for each call (e.g., new patient intake, referral, insurance verification, appointment scheduling)
- Schedule consultations, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments according to practice protocols and physician availability
- Ensure new patients are scheduled within an appropriate timeframe
- Reschedule missed appointments in compliance with practice guidelines
- Confirm upcoming appointments and provide patients with any required instructions
Requirements
- 1+ year of recent medical office administrative experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility staff
- Self-directed multitasker
Qualifications
- 1+ year of recent medical office administrative experience or medical scheduling experience in a call center or medical environment
Nice to Have
- Previous EMR system experience
