Medical Assistant

About This Role

The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care to patients, preparing them for examinations, assisting healthcare providers, and maintaining patient records. This role supports comprehensive women's healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and other patient care areas
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint
• Measure, record, and document vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection as directed by the provider (where applicable)
• Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and complying with legal regulations
• Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures
• Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers
• Represent the office in a professional manner and treat all customers with courtesy

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections (if applicable)
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions
• Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of personnel and patients
• Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care
• Experience with eCW electronic medical records application
