Medical Assistant with Limited X-Ray

About This Role

This Medical Assistant role, with limited X-Ray capabilities, supports Medical Providers and patients by managing patient care, performing limited X-rays, and ensuring accurate, high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologist, and patients through patient care management, organization, and communication
• Perform limited capacity x-rays for patients and report results to Medical Providers
• Conduct patient registration, including securing required paperwork and insurance documentation
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments
• Prepare patients for examination and perform preliminary physical tests
• Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
• Answer phone calls and manage postal correspondence
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out and securing the building

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• One of the required medical assistant or equivalent certifications (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, LPN, RN, EMT, CNA)
• State-specific limited X-ray certifications/training as applicable (AR, CA, MD, MO, MI, OR, OK, TX, VA, WA, DC)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred
• Medical Assistant experience and experience performing x-rays preferred
