Medical Assistant with Limited X-Ray

About This Role

The Medical Assistant with X-Ray provides collaborative support to medical providers and patients, performing limited capacity X-rays and managing patient care. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely patient services while adhering to the organization's vision and core values.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologist, and patients through patient care management, organization, and communication
• Perform limited capacity X-rays for patients and report results to Medical Providers
• Complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner
• Conduct patient registration, including securing required paperwork and insurance documentation
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments
• Prepare patients for examination, including verifying information, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
• Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalate critical cases
• Conduct point of care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
• Answer phone calls, collect and sort incoming and outgoing postal correspondence
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building
• Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One of the required medical assistant or nursing certifications/licenses
• Relevant state X-ray certification/training

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant experience preferred; experience performing X-rays preferred
