About This Role

This Medical Assistant role involves providing direct patient care and clinical support to providers in an ambulatory setting, contributing to efficient patient flow and clinic operations. The position focuses on obtaining medical history, managing appointments, and assisting with various patient-related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical history information
• Expedite patient flow
• Room patients
• Stock the clinic with supplies
• Navigate the electronic health record system
• Schedule and follow-up with appointments
• Assist with medication fill requests
• Assist with prior authorizations
• Schedule tests, procedures, and consults
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians respectfully

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• One of the following: SRNA, CNA, RN nursing student (completed first fundamental course and a clinical), EMT/medic, graduate from a medical assistant program, graduate from a licensed practical nursing program, or CST III at UK in the last 12 months
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA

Qualifications

• HS
• 0 years of required related experience, 1 year of clinical experience preferred

Nice to Have

• One year of clinical experience
