The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and administrative duties to support assigned outpatient clinics. This role involves assisting with patient care, performing basic clinical skills, and maintaining medical supplies and examination areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist with performing patient care under the direction and supervision of a provider or nurse
- Perform basic clinical skills and specimen collection
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient conditions
- Document patient care provided
- Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain examination areas
- Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- MA certification or registration (Medical Assistant I) OR 3 years of Medical Assistant experience OR graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
- BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date, good through sixty days of hire
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- UCHealth will hire into a Medical Assistant title in lieu of a Medical Assistant registration or certification if a candidate possesses: 3 years of Medical Assistant experience OR is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
