About This Role

This role will partner with the learning and operations team to create an effortless, personal, and connected onboarding and training experience for Medical Assistants. The coach will provide practical skills training and foster growth learning using a competency-based model.

Responsibilities

  • Execute practical skills training for new hire Medical Assistants
  • Follow a formal and organized method of teaching critical thinking skills and high-level competencies
  • Use a competency-based model to foster growth learning and enhance learner socialization
  • Provide support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through various tasks
  • Teach and evaluate team members’ technical skill competencies using pre-approved methods and procedures
  • Conduct orientation to the center, department, and/or organization to cover predetermined learning items
  • Teach and train team members to bring them to predetermined levels of competence for specific jobs
  • Host Learning Coach Workshops as needed and act as backup to Training Specialists
  • Provide in-center coaching to new team members on all assigned core competencies
  • Offer hands-on market-specific training for new hires, check-ins, process updates, and annual competencies

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or RMA certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years or Medical Assistant experience (if program graduate)
  • Training or related experience
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Urgent care experience
  • One of the specified Medical Assistant certifications (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or equivalent (LPN, RN, EMT, CNA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficient use and understanding of medical terminology
  • Clinical skills in Point of Care Testing, vitals intake, clinical laboratory procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or RMA certification required, or High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience within the last 3 years with direct patient care required, or Medical Assistant experience preferred for Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program

Nice to Have

  • Fit Test Certification within 30 days of offer or hire
  • BLS Instructor Certification within 30 days of offer or hire
