About This Role

This Medical Assistant role provides direct clinical care to patients in an urgent care setting, performing initial evaluations, assisting with procedures, and managing patient documentation to ensure efficient and high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings
• Perform initial evaluations and X-ray testing
• Prepare patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation
• Recognize acuity levels for appropriate intervention
• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and X-ray results and execute follow-up calls with urgency
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Certified Medical Assistant
• Experience performing X-Rays
