This Medical Assistant role provides direct clinical care to patients in an urgent care setting, performing initial evaluations, assisting with procedures, and managing patient documentation to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings
- Perform initial evaluations and X-ray testing
- Prepare patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation
- Recognize acuity levels for appropriate intervention
- Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
- Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
- Ensure timely follow-up for lab and X-ray results and execute follow-up calls with urgency
- Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
- Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
- Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
- Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
- Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
- Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS Certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
