Medical Assistant

About This Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care within Thurston Medical Clinic. This position requires a reliable, friendly, and energetic individual with outstanding people skills to join a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals, medical history, and allergy/asthma updates
• Accurately document in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Assist providers with clinical procedures and testing
• Manage clinical tasks including prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription support
• Contribute to daily team flow, supporting both patients and fellow staff
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA
• Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple providers
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
• BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program preferred
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA

Nice to Have

• Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
