Medical Assistant - Pediatrics

About This Role

The Medical Assistant will support healthcare providers in a pediatric office setting, delivering direct and indirect patient care. This role involves assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by completing an advanced standard room process including chief complaint entry, vital signs, history, and allergy review
• Complete thorough medication reconciliation
• Close open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, and cancer screenings
• Recheck elevated blood pressures and complete necessary Epic documentation for yearly preventative visits
• Assist with in-office testing including drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point of care testing
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice
• Schedule follow-up appointments according to office policy
• Collaborate with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate care plan delivery

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry level with preferred 6 months of clinical healthcare experience

Nice to Have

• 6 months of clinical healthcare experience
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
