About This Role

This Medical Assistant role involves providing both administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of an oncology clinic. The position focuses on delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care and enhancing clinic efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Document in electronic medical record (EMR) system(s)
  • Request external medical records and prepare patient charts prior to appointments
  • Perform and document patient vital signs
  • Complete review of systems and intake documentation
  • Prepare patients for physician care
  • Administer basic first aid
  • Perform venipunctures and non-intravenous injections
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures
  • Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms
  • Assist with patient examinations, procedures, or treatments
  • Administer certain medications as directed by the physician

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED; Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute.
  • 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or related role in an outpatient clinic/medical office setting is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Medical Assistant Certificate
  • 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic/medical office setting
  • BLS certification
  • CPR certification
