Provide high-quality administrative and clinical support in a fast-paced physician's orthopedic practice, delivering exceptional patient care under the direction of the practice leader.
Responsibilities
- Record patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam rooms
- Assist with exams, procedures, injections, and suture removal
- Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing
- Schedule appointments, tests, and follow-ups
- Perform administrative duties including answering phones, processing paperwork, and managing medical records
- Maintain clean and sterile exam areas and equipment
- Provide patient education and follow-up communication
- Respond appropriately to urgent/emergency situations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- For CMAs: Certificate or AA Degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program and CMA certification
- For non-CMAs: At least 6 months patient care experience or formal training (CNA, EMT, GNA, MA program)
- Current BLS (CPR)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate or AA Degree from a Medical Assistant program required for CMAs
- Preferred prior MA experience in a clinical setting for CMAs; at least 6 months in a patient care role or completion of formal training for non-CMAs
Nice to Have
- Prior MA experience in a clinical setting
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to stay calm and professional in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable using EHR systems and multitasking
