Medical Assistant

About This Role

Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families while supporting efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone
• Assist in the delivery of health care services to patients of varied backgrounds and age
• Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families
• Work effectively with fellow employees for efficient patient flow
• Provide support to patients and the attending physician
• Communicate via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately
• Access company's data systems to document pertinent medical information
• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit
• Ensures the patient’s questions are answered prior to leaving

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Clinical knowledge
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with and maintaining confidential information and working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have

• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program
