Medical Assistant

About This Role

This Medical Assistant role involves providing direct patient care in an ambulatory clinic, focusing on acute and chronic needs. You will gather information for clinicians, communicate with patients via telephone and in-person, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a Clinician, assisting with information gathering relevant to patient visits and conditions
• Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through various modalities including telephone and in-person interactions
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional patient care
• Demonstrate attention to detail and follow-through in providing necessary care

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or current RN/LPN license
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (prior to start date)
• Demonstrated basic computer skills (word processing, data entry)
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI)

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or a current RN/LPN license

Nice to Have

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software
• Current national MA certification (RMA of AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA of AAMA)
