Medical Assistant II

About This Role

The Medical Assistant II assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical/clerical supportive services in a clinical setting. This role involves administering various injections and performing venipunctures and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of direct patient care
• Perform routine patient care procedures
• Provide technical and clerical supportive services in the clinical setting
• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections
• Perform skin tests
• Administer oral medication
• Perform venipunctures for blood specimens
• Perform skin punctures for blood specimens

Requirements

• Medical Assistant diploma
• Minimum one year of experience
• Valid BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross guidelines)

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma required. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience required.

Nice to Have

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Two years of experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese (depending on location)
