Provide high-quality clinical expertise to patients at Memorial Health - Surgical Specialists, preparing them for examinations, assisting physicians, and ensuring efficient care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments and sterilization
- Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
- Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referral
Requirements
- One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience
- Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE) or ability to obtain within specified timeframe
Qualifications
- One year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting
