This Medical Assistant role involves collaborating with a clinical team to execute care tasks, deliver care according to patient plans, and ensure smooth clinic operations through various supportive functions. The position is essential for connecting care with a better payment model, focusing on the patient.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the clinical team to execute care tasks as ordered by providers
- Deliver care in accordance with the member's care plan
- Complete opening and closing tasks each day to prepare for daily operations
- Support the care team to ensure clients’ needs are met and hand-offs are appropriately conducted
- Perform client intake
- Collect lab specimens
- Chart in electronic medical records
- Administer immunizations
- Assist with minor medical procedures
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care
- CPR Certification
- Computer skills with the ability to enter information in the E.H.R. system and compile reports or data as requested
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Skill in providing excellent customer service and support
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public and professional groups
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others
- Consistently maintain ethical behaviors exemplary of quality public service and fair standards
- Ability to work as an effective team member
- Ability to function independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative
- Ability to be flexible to shift priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships
- Ability to effectively assist providers
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care
Nice to Have
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience with Phlebotomy
- BLS Certification
