Medical Assistant

About This Role

The Medical Assistant will provide support to urgent care providers by managing patient flow, performing preliminary physical tests, and conducting point-of-care testing. This role ensures an effortless patient experience within a consumer-centric healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient check-in and registration, including securing paperwork and insurance documentation
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on charts
• Draw and collect blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments
• Coordinate provider referrals to specialists
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out and securing the building

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required, Front Desk experience preferred
