Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Manage patient check-in and registration, perform vital sign measurements, and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage the check-in and registration process, including securing paperwork and insurance documentation
- Interview patients, measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information on patients' charts
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments
- Coordinate provider referrals to specialists
- Perform preliminary physical tests and point of care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
- Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out and securing the building
Requirements
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
- High School Diploma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to type quickly
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Qualifications
- High School Diploma — required, Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program — preferred
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required, 3+ years for experience-based pathway

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all persons with fairness, respect and sensitivity
