Medical Assistant

About This Role

This Medical Assistant role involves assisting physicians with patient examinations and treatments, managing patient records, and performing various clinical procedures in an urgent care setting.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height); record information on patients' charts
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Drape patients with coverings and position instruments and equipment
• Hand instruments and materials to doctor, as directed
• Clean and sterilize instruments
• Inventory and order medical supplies and materials
• Give injections or treatments and perform routine laboratory tests
• Input data into computer to maintain office and patient records
• Assist doctor with charting
• Conduct hart auditing, CPT, and ICD-9 reviews
• Perform venipunctures, EKGs, vital signs, blood draws, and injections
• Prep patient for examination and treatment, and assist during minor office procedures
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms (instrument preparation and sterilization, prescription refills, faxing, and filing)

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Diploma
• Experience performing EKGs
• Experience performing blood draws
• Experience performing vital signs
• Experience performing IM injections
