Provide direct patient care and clinical services, assisting physicians and ensuring high-quality, efficient care for patients at College Park Family Care Center. This role prepares patients for examinations and assists with various medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
- Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
- Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referrals
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting OR current Medical Assistant certification
- Medical Assistant Certification for those without it within one year of hire date if without certification but with 1 year work experience
- Clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment for recent graduates of a Medical Assisting training program
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program
- Entry level with potential for up to 12 months of direct clinical patient care experience
