Medical Assistant - Clinical

About This Role

This role involves providing direct patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and performing administrative tasks in an outpatient setting. The position requires strong medical skills and the ability to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and perform standard patient intake including vitals
• Assist with minor clinical office procedures
• Perform standard medical laboratory/Point of Care (POC) testing
• Administer medications/immunizations, injections as directed
• Respond to general patient inquiries regarding treatment and clinic policies and procedures
• Coordinate patient care with outside health agencies
• Complete general administrative duties as assigned, including FMLA, Disability, Return to Work forms, and Electronic Medical Record in-basket messages

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Entry level with 0-1 years of experience or 1-3 years for Associate level

Nice to Have

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA)
• Experience working within a large complex health care setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical records system
