Provide direct patient care in a clinical setting at Atrium Health Levine Children's Specialty Center Cardiology. This role involves rooming patients, assisting providers with procedures, performing lab duties, and administering medications and vaccines safely.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintain training and competency
- Perform rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, and medical history
- Assist provider with or perform procedures as ordered
- Perform lab related duties including venipuncture, specimen collection, and CLIA approved waived laboratory tests
- Administer medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration
- Perform other duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and appointment scheduling
- Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned and stocked
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to pediatric patients
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant military training/experience
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training (clinical in nature)
- No Experience Required
Nice to Have
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
