About This Role

The Medical Assistant at ArchWell Health plays a critical role in supporting the Primary Care Provider (PCP) day-to-day, ensuring efficiency in patient care, and contributing to a robust clinical care team focused on member needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, measuring and recording vital signs, performing patient interviews, and collecting medical history
  • Assist in examinations and perform routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions are addressed
  • Engage with patients to report needs or changes in conditions to the PCP, specialists, or other clinical personnel
  • Process patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to appropriate team members
  • Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and maintain accurate, legal, and ethical documentation
  • Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up weekly

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training
  • 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required. Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training required.
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant.

Nice to Have

  • 6+months' phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with EClinical Works or similar EMR
  • Experience working with geriatric patients
