About This Role

This role involves providing hands-on care and medical assistance to residents in a senior living community, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being within a safe and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, physical and emotional support to residents
• Maintain a safe and comfortable home-like environment for residents
• Observe, report, and document changes in residents' symptoms and conditions
• Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells
• Assist with continence management and proper disposal of products
• Serve and collect food trays, reporting refusal or loss of appetite
• Maintain cleanliness of resident's room and work areas
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating)
• Assist/observe medications and treatments using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass
• Document and initial medication administration, including refusals or missed doses
• Report all resident medication concerns to Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC)
• Restock medication cart after all medication passes
• Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness and availability of medications
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School diploma/GED

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred, but not required.

Nice to Have

• Certified Nurse’s Aid (CNA) certification
• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Previous experience working with seniors
