About This Role

Provide hands-on care, physical and emotional support to residents, and assist with medication administration while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in a senior living community.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents
• Observe, report, and document changes in residents' condition
• Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells
• Assist with continence management and proper disposal of products
• Serve and collect food trays, reporting refusals or loss of appetite
• Maintain cleanliness of residents' rooms and work areas
• Actively assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities
• Assist with medication observation and administration using the Six Rights of Medication Pass
• Document and initial medication administration, including refusals or missed doses
• Restock medication cart and assist in checking medication
• Count narcotics with another staff member each shift
• Maintain and clean the Medication Room and carts, checking for expired medications
• Participate in the development and monthly updates of the Service Plan
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates)

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

• Certified Nurse’s Aid certification
• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Previous experience working with seniors
