This Mechanical Engineer will support a dynamic program at a world-class operations facility by providing mechanical systems commissioning and energy-related services. The role involves managing all phases of facility lifecycle from design to operations and maintenance, working with cross-functional teams, and supporting mission-critical OCONUS facilities.
Responsibilities
- Support a dynamic program in a world-class operations facility
- Provide mechanical systems commissioning and energy related services for new construction and retro-commissioning projects
- Ensure all phases of a facility's life cycle from design to operations and maintenance (O&M)
- Work with Electrical engineering and software controls to plan, draw, and implement the installation and recap of IT infrastructures
- Travel up to 15% to OCONUS facilities
- Responsible for multiple mechanical systems, including analysis and reporting of mechanical system data and metrics
- Maintain documentation pertaining to various projects, design drawings, technical reports, and engineering activities
- Support day-to-day functionality and provide engineering analysis for the Customer's mission critical OCONUS facility
- Analyze data from the site's monitoring system to assist design development, site expansion capabilities, or determining inefficiencies
- Calculate and develop cooling requirements for new or existing facilities
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Sequence of Operations for cooling systems
- Develop and execute preventative and/or predictive maintenance plans for mission critical equipment
- Interpret and design mechanical drawings and control wiring diagrams
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to resolve issues or improve efficiencies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field
- TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance (or willingness to upgrade)
- Ability to analyze data from site's monitoring system
- Ability to calculate and develop cooling requirements
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment (Chillers, pumps, CRAC/CRAH, Fan-Coil units, In-Row Coolers)
- Ability to develop SOPs and Sequence of Operations for cooling systems
- Ability to develop and execute preventative/predictive maintenance plans
- Ability to interpret and design mechanical drawings and control wiring diagrams
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment
- Understanding of industry standard data center best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited College or University in Mechanical Engineering or other STEM related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
Nice to Have
- Knowledgeable in power distribution systems pertaining to Data Center configurations
- Understanding of Building Monitoring Systems
- Understanding of Computer aided design software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Flow-Simulation software
