Join a Project Engineering Group to design, develop, and deliver industrial process systems for the pharmaceutical, biotech, beverage, and food industries. This hands-on role involves taking ownership of mechanical system design from concept to commissioning, working closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical system designs, including equipment specifications, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and system layouts
- Oversee mechanical designers creating fabrication models and detailed drawings
- Review and approve design documents, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and manufacturability
- Collaborate with customers during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and address technical questions
- Support projects across budgeting, scheduling, fabrication, installation, and testing
- Prepare bills of materials and provide project information to fabrication and procurement teams
- Evaluate designs and make recommendations to balance customer requirements, cost, and manufacturability
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet design milestones
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide solutions throughout the engineering and design process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field OR Associates degree with 3+ years of mechanical design experience
- Experience with industrial process systems, mechanical equipment layouts, material handling, or fluid handling
- Ability to review vendor submittals, drawings, and equipment specifications
- Strong knowledge of engineering documentation, CAD drawings, and project workflows
- Familiarity with engineering principles, mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Proficient in engineering drawings and documentation, process flow diagrams, system layouts, bill of materials, and fabrication requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or Associates degree with 3+ years of mechanical design experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience; experience with industrial process systems, mechanical equipment layouts, material handling, or fluid handling
