About This Role

Perform general product preparation, clean-up, and stocking duties in the Meat department while providing excellent customer service. This role focuses on maintaining product quality, department cleanliness, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, and serving customers in the Meat department.
  • Accurately update and maintain department temperature logs.
  • Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
  • Unload trucks, sort orders, and place items in proper cooler locations.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies.
  • Provide good customer and associate relations, communicating effectively and making a friendly impression.
  • Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully, greeting customers and providing good quality foods.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels
  • Ability to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations

Nice to Have

  • Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation
  • Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling
