About This Role

Serve as a Material Expediter Work Leader (Forklift Operator) in the Supply & Logistics Department, responsible for planning, scheduling, expediting, and coordinating receipt and issue of materials to warehouse areas. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, guiding material handling movements, and assisting with equipment management while overseeing lower-graded operators.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, expedite and coordinate receipt, and issue of all materials to warehouse areas
  • Develop logistic area plans to accommodate material received and issued based on security and storage requirements
  • Ensure employees perform in compliance with rules, regulations, instructions, and policies regarding nuclear and non-nuclear material
  • Provide overall guidance and direction during material handling movement to ensure proper packaging and securement
  • Assist the supervisor in the management and service of assigned material handling equipment to maintain certification and availability
  • Distribute and balance workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization
  • Assure timely accomplishment of assigned work and ensure each employee remains productive
  • Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques, providing written instructions and reference material
  • Check work in progress or spot check work to ensure proper documentation of material usage and receipt control
  • Perform tasks involved with assessment of all nuclear, hazmat, and non-nuclear related material received for end use acceptance
  • Accurately and timely process documentation and updates in the appropriate database with receipt, stow, and issue information
  • Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and light trucks
  • Instruct and oversee lower graded material handling equipment operators

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to Lead or Supervise
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Willing and able to complete training and obtain a government credit card for travel
  • Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, safety shoes)
  • Willing and able to participate in medical surveillance programs
  • Willing and able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites, on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
  • Possess a current Forklift certification; or, be willing and able to attain a Forklift certification within one year of selection
  • Willing and able to work onboard ships
  • Willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 60 pounds in weight
  • Subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

  • Experience and training demonstrating knowledge and skill necessary to perform duties, with emphasis on quality of experience, not necessarily length of time. Ability to Lead or Supervise.
