About This Role

Manage and oversee environmental protection projects and programs for the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, ensuring compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies. Evaluate program status, formulate metrics, and address long-range environmental issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects for specific environmental programs
  • Recommend program goals and propose action plans to accomplish them
  • Evaluate current program status and formulate metrics, benchmarks, and management data requirements
  • Conceive, devise, revise and direct studies to resolve long-range problems in assigned program areas consistent with USFF policy
  • Review, recommend modifications, and defend Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Program Review (PR), capabilities assessments, and budget submittal resource requirements for assigned program management issues
  • Serve as the technical authority for USFF environmental programs in assigned areas and all related laws, regulations, policies, and directives

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment
  • Experience in environmental project management in programs such as range sustainment, National Environmental Policy Act, afloat environmental compliance, natural resources, marine mammals and endangered species, encroachment, or strategic communications
  • Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, including website development/maintenance, stakeholder relationship management, and audience analysis, to achieve organizational objectives
  • Experience in planning, programming, budgeting, and execution at a project level
  • Experience in preparation of flag officer level briefs, directives, policies, issue papers, and reports
  • Experience in identifying and developing resolutions to short and long-range issues in environmental program areas
  • Experience directing and collaborating across government agencies, as well as up and down Chain of Command

Qualifications

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in environmental project management within federal or public/private sector, specifically in areas such as range sustainment, National Environmental Policy Act, afloat environmental compliance, natural resources, marine mammals and endangered species, encroachment, or strategic communications.
