The Manufacturing Engineer II will drive manufacturing excellence by developing, improving, and optimizing production processes. This role focuses on technical leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness within Modine Manufacturing Company.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling to improve production efficiency and product quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and design engineering to resolve manufacturing issues
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Support new product introductions by providing design for manufacturing feedback to design engineering and then developing and validating manufacturing processes
- Create and maintain process documentation including standard work, work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed
- Participate in capital equipment selection and justification
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues
Requirements
- 2-7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing data analysis tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
