Material Handler

About This Role

The Material Handler is responsible for managing the flow of parts and materials within a manufacturing environment. This role involves receiving, staging, and organizing parts for assembly, as well as maintaining a neat and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

• Receive written schedule breakdown from Supervisor
• Take required parts and necessary quantities from racks and storage areas to appropriate staging areas using powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks
• Place parts on floor or raise them up on tables
• Relocate empty skids to appropriate areas
• Collect and dispose of miscellaneous scrap, cardboard, and debris
• Submit production orders and monitor Kanban system
• Enter production orders in SAP
• Perform 5S audits
• Assist Supervisor and Assemblers as necessary
• Keep department neat, clean, and orderly
• Report inadequate parts and quantities to Supervisor
• Identify and label appropriate part numbers on all parts before transferring to new or different locations

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. while standing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
