Manager, Environmental Services

About This Role

Manage the Environmental Services department, including staff supervision, training, and performance evaluation. Oversee departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and budget monitoring, ensuring efficient and safe operations within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Environmental Services team members and supervisors, guiding toward department objectives
• Develop, communicate, and build consensus for goals in alignment with the health system
• Manage the staff and activities of the Environmental Services department, maintaining objectives, policies, procedures, and standards
• Hire, train, and evaluate direct reports; ensure performance appraisals are completed timely
• Recommend staffing requirements and prepare staff work schedules
• Ensure all staff are oriented and trained regarding department goals and objectives
• Prepare, conduct, and organize training programs as necessary
• Collaborate with management in the review, development, and monitoring of department budgets, including staffing, equipment, and supplies
• Ensure adequate inventory of supplies and maintain par levels
• Ensure facility inspections are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for corrective action and implement plans
• Responsible for selecting and testing equipment and supplies to ensure effectiveness and safety while maintaining costs

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• 2-5 years of leadership / management experience
