About This Role

Perform technical and mechanical maintenance work to ensure the physical aspects of buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet company standards for appearance, safety, and functionality. Complete resident work orders and prepare vacant units for new move-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing problems and making repairs according to policies and safety standards
  • Complete the “make-ready” process for vacant apartment homes, including pre-move-out inspection, creating a punch list, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, completing maintenance tasks, and inspecting work
  • Follow procedures for accessing and obtaining maintenance materials and supplies, tracking inventory, returning unused items, and notifying supervisor of re-ordering needs
  • Complete documentation and other paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion for service request tracking
  • Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash, pressure-washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting
  • Support cost-cutting and expense control programs by fixing rather than replacing parts, minimizing waste, and correctly using tools and equipment
  • Comply with Greystar’s safety and risk-management policies, attending safety meetings, completing required OSHA training, and reporting accidents promptly
  • Periodically inspect work performed by contractors, vendors, and service providers to verify quality and adherence to specifications
  • Assist in conducting routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk management concerns and communicate physical needs to management

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and crawl in confined areas
  • Ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including on-call during evenings, weekends and holidays
