Maintenance Technician

About This Role

The Maintenance Technician will support production by maintaining and repairing equipment in Amcor's Mankato, MN flexibles converter and distribution plant. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all machinery, detect failing equipment, troubleshoot, repair and set up all equipment
• Read schematics: mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic
• Utilize knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions
• Use electrical test equipment
• Operate welding equipment: stick, mig, braze and torch
• Fabricate parts as needed
• Apply plumbing skills to maintenance tasks
• Understand compressors and transfer systems
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
• Abide by all safety rules and procedures and comply with ISO training and quality program

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
• Ability to wear required PPE including Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection
• Ability to work well independently or in a team environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a manufacturing mechanical environment is highly preferred, or entry-level.
