About This Role

Provide professional nursing care to residents of all ages in a long-term care setting, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring their health, comfort, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise
• Utilize appropriate age and population specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan
• Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide necessary care
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to emergent situations
• Administer medications or treatments as ordered
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
• Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans when directed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
• Minimum of 400 hours of LPN experience or pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience
