About This Role

Supervise Lifeguard I positions and ensure the safety of all swimmers at a County pool or beach. Administer first-aid, provide swimming instruction, and perform daily maintenance of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Lifeguard I positions
• Maintain the safety of all swimmers
• Take appropriate lifesaving action
• Administer First-Aid
• Provide swimming and water safety instruction
• Conduct staff training programs
• Generate assigned reports and records
• Perform daily maintenance associated with a public swimming facility

Requirements

• Ability to maintain safety of swimmers
• Ability to take lifesaving action and administer first-aid
• Good physical condition
• Mature judgment
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
• Ability to swim, climb, bend, stoop, walk, and squat frequently
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
• Valid CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
• Valid First-Aid certification
• Pass a lifesaving test

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred
