Inclusion Support Leader

About This Role

The Inclusion Support Leader is responsible for developing and implementing behavioral and social skills programs for campers with disabilities. This role ensures full participation in camp activities and provides support and instruction to both campers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coach counselors through the development and implementation of behavior intervention and crisis plans for identified students.
• Provide support and instruction to campers and staff, utilizing research-based methodologies of inclusion.
• Implement and coach camp personnel on research-based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies.
• Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by department, state, and federal agencies.
• Facilitate in the planning and implementation of accessible activities with recommended adaptations for each child’s participation.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates and solicit feedback on individual needs and goals.
• Assist with camper crisis intervention.
• Lift and carry equipment or campers up to 50 pounds, pull and push heavy items.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Trained in applied behavior analysis or equivalent course/training
• Trained in approved positive behavioral strategies to prevent or de-escalate behavior
• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to exceptional student education
• Ability to lift and carry equipment or campers up to 50 pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
