Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

About This Role

This role involves providing high-quality, evidence-based patient care using advanced clinical expertise, contributing to improved patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications.
• Evaluate complex patient conditions and monitor pain levels.
• Apply advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities.
• Perform routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well-being.
• Manage patient access to healthcare and connect individuals with community resources.
• Conduct medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.
• Develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
• Accurately document patient medical history using electronic health records.
• Interact with patients, families and other healthcare professionals with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Active and in good standing state LVN license
• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards
• Experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience working in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics among staff and patients
• Proven ability to manage sensitive information ethically and responsibly
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and graduate of a State approved Practical or Vocational nursing program.
