Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

About This Role

Utilize advanced clinical expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). This role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments and medications, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for patients to improve health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications
• Evaluate complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses
• Apply advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities
• Perform routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well-being
• Manage patient access to healthcare and connect individuals with community resources
• Conduct medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions
• Develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function
• Accurately document patient medical history using electronic health records
• Interact with patients, families and other healthcare professionals

Requirements

• Active and in good standing state LVN or LPN license
• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards
• Experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience working in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics
• Proven ability to manage sensitive information ethically and responsibly
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State approved Practical or Vocational nursing program
