Licensed Practical Nurse

About This Role

Baptist Urgent Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide patient care and support medical staff in Batesville, MS. The role involves patient greeting, health history recording, assisting with examinations, administering medications, and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for examination or procedure, recording health history and noting abnormal conditions.
• Assist with the preparation of supplies and equipment, aiding the physician or mid-level practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Administer injections and prescribed medications as directed by the physician, observing, recording, and reporting patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments.
• Ensure accurate and timely patient chart entries, maintaining patient files, records, and other information.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments, arranging referrals to specialists, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
• Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens, obtaining lab test results and other reports, and notifying patients of test results and follow-up appointments.
• Clean and restock exam/treatment rooms between procedures, following clinic policies for infection control.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications, treatment, and discharge instructions.
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referral to nurse or physician, triaging patients to ensure productive departmental flow.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited school of practical nursing
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required
• Experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
