This role involves providing medical and psychiatric nursing care to patients at Oregon State Hospital, administering medications, conducting focused assessments, and responding to emergent psychiatric situations. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and contribute to maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining and providing medical/psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients
- Administer medications as ordered by the provider
- Complete focused assessments
- Respond to emergent psychiatric situations that could potentially be dangerous
- Assist in providing a safe, secure environment
- Contribute to the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu
Requirements
- Possess a valid Oregon Practical Nurse License at the time of appointment

- Experience working in mental health
- Experience in conflict and crisis management
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in milieu management
- Ability to manage multiple job responsibilities at one time
