This role involves providing high-quality direct patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within ENT and Allergy clinics. The LPN will support physicians and other healthcare professionals by performing medical assessments, administering treatments, and managing patient records, ensuring efficient and effective patient services.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses
- Assist with patient assessments, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as directed by the physician
- Perform routine lab tests, collect specimens, and prepare samples for analysis
- Assist with diagnostic tests, treatments, and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up appointments to support efficient clinic operations
- Respond to patient inquiries, phone calls, and triage calls, providing appropriate guidance and information
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and effective communication
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Active and unrestricted LPN license in the state of practice required
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong clinical skills, with a focus on patient safety and quality care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, preferably in ENT or Allergy
