About This Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care to assigned residents/patients, coordinating their plan of care, and ensuring patient safety under the supervision of an RN or DON. This role involves adhering to state standards of care and supervising nursing assistants' activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a licensed caregiver, assuming responsibility and accountability for assigned residents/patients for a shift of duty
  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate the resident’s/patient’s plan of care
  • Adhere to the standards of care for the area
  • Manage the environment to maintain resident/patient safety
  • Supervise resident/patient care activity performance by nursing assistants
  • Follow all Center policies and procedures
  • Perform duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act

Requirements

  • Licensed as an LPN in the State
  • Ability to use necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
  • Ability to calculate drug dosage
  • Meets all health requirements imposed by law
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
