Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About This Role

Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment
• Participate in employee performance evaluations
• Determine shift's staffing requirements
• Make recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor concerning employee dismissals, transfers, etc.
• Greet newly admitted residents upon admission and escort them to their rooms
• Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility
• Participate in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes for the nursing service department
