About This Role

This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse who will provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to inmates in correctional facilities across CO, NM, TX, and WY with weekly travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assessment of the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of inmates in the Health Care Unit and housing units
  • Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment programs using available knowledge, diagnostic tests, resources, and consultations with RNs and other staff
  • Administer medications according to proper techniques and procedures, including IV therapy (when certified)
  • Assist the provider in evaluations, medical procedures, and minor surgical procedures as necessary
  • Obtain body fluid specimens and perform EKGs using proper techniques and procedures
  • Maintain and document controlled substances and medical equipment
  • Intervene in various situations with proper safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions
  • Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans through proper techniques and procedures as ordered by provider
  • Triage and assess healthcare requests
  • Travel weekly to designated CorrHealth facilities in NM, TX, WY, and CO

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted compact license as LPN/LVN
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Current TB test (within one year)
  • Willingness to travel weekly
  • Flexible availability (days/nights, 7 days a week)

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program

Certifications

CPR/BLS Certification (Required) IV therapy certification (if applicable) (Required)
