Licensed Optical Manager

About This Role

Lead an in-house Optical team as an Optical Manager, utilizing professional skills and product expertise to create exceptional customer experiences. Coach Opticians, uphold service standards, and collaborate with the Store Leader on staffing and retail programs.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to help meet all of their eyewear needs
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracy
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards, as well as customer requirements and requests
• Use expertise to explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
• Manage a team of Opticians by giving and receiving feedback, holding ongoing development conversations, and leading by example
• Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs that increase customer loyalty and engagement
• Report to the Store Leader, working together to anticipate staffing needs and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants
• Stay up to date with HR policies and procedures to promote a productive, safe culture
• Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations

Requirements

• Licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states)
• 2+ years in a management position
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills
• Ability to drive optical metrics and adhere to strict optical standards
• High sense of professionalism and open-mindedness
• Clear and effective communicator
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a management position
