Licensed Nursing Assistant

About This Role

Deliver patient care, document resident needs, and provide support to residents and families according to established policies and procedures. Observe and communicate changes in residents' medical, mental, and emotional conditions to appropriate staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to established policies and procedures
• Carry out direct physical cares
• Document resident needs and conditions
• Direct other non-licensed personnel on the nursing unit when indicated
• Communicate regularly with the charge nurse regarding observations and problem areas
• Observe residents' medical, mental and emotional conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff
• Provide explanation and understanding of nursing care to residents and families
• Monitor resident rooms for actual or potential safety hazards
• Assist in the admission, orientation, discharge and transfer of residents

Requirements

• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• Licensed Nursing Aide
• 1 year experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant
• Minimum of 6 months full time experience as a nursing assistant in a long-term geriatric setting
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• 1 year experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant; 6 months full-time experience as a nursing assistant in a long-term geriatric setting
